What it costs

China Bank’s My CBC page answers “Is there a service fee for transferring funds using My CBC?” with “None”, and lists transfers “to e-wallets via InstaPay” and “to e-wallets via PESONet” as free of charge (China Bank ↗). The Top-up E-Wallet section of the My CBC FAQs says the same: “Top-up eWallet transactions via InstaPay or PESONet are free” (China Bank ↗). China Bank’s move to free transfers was covered in BDO, Metrobank, PSBank and China Bank make transfers free.

How much you can send

Two sets of limits apply at once: China Bank’s limits on what leaves your account, and the limits of your GCash profile on what comes in.

  • China Bank, InstaPay: ₱50,000 per transaction and up to ₱250,000 in accumulated transactions a day (China Bank ↗ · ).
  • China Bank, PESONet: ₱499,999 per transaction, with a daily limit of ₱499,999 for PESONet transfers.
  • The shared ₱250,000: China Bank sets two bank-wide daily allowances per customer, ₱499,999 for PESONet and ₱250,000 for all non-PESONet transfers combined: transfers to other China Bank and China Bank Savings accounts, InstaPay (including person-to-person QR) and QR payments to merchants.
  • Your own lower limits: in My CBC you can set a daily limit per transfer type at or below those allowances. A transfer that would go over either your own limit or the bank’s allowance is blocked with an on-screen message.

How PESONet batches work at other banks is on PESONet cut-off times by bank, and the two rails are compared on PESONet vs InstaPay.

Warning InstaPay and PESONet send to the account number you type. Check your GCash mobile number before you confirm, and never share your OTP, MPIN or passkey with anyone who offers to speed up, cancel or reverse a transfer.

Tip If you suspect someone has access to your account, My CBC’s Money Lock lets you lock part or all of the balance of a savings or current account, so any outgoing transfer that would use the locked amount is blocked (China Bank ↗).
