Short answer Chinabank’s remittance fee schedule, effective January 2025, lists ₱600 for an outward foreign telegraphic transfer (TT) from a peso or foreign-currency account. An inward foreign TT costs ₱150 to ₱300 when credited in pesos, depending on how it is funded, or US$3, €5, CNY 35 or JPY 300 when credited to a dollar, euro, yuan or yen account. Inward PESONet carries no Chinabank fee.

The outward PESONet line is a branch remittance charge. Transfers sent from the My CBC app are a different channel: Chinabank lists InstaPay and PESONet transfers there as free of charge, with up to ₱50,000 per InstaPay transaction and ₱499,999 per PESONet transaction (Chinabank ↗, ). See the InstaPay and PESONet fee table for other banks.

The three peso rows depend on how the money reaches Chinabank, so the sender’s bank or remittance partner decides which one applies. Each peso row is subject to documentary stamp tax of ₱0.60 for every ₱200 or fraction of it, per the schedule’s footnote.

Early withdrawal from a dollar account

An outward TT debited from a foreign-currency account carries a second footnote. Within the holding period of a USD account, Chinabank charges an early withdrawal fee of 0.25% of the amount or US$10, whichever is higher. Other foreign-currency accounts must clear the holding period first. This is separate from the ₱600 transfer fee.

How money from abroad can arrive

Chinabank’s remittance page lists three delivery options through its international partners:

  • direct credit to a Chinabank account;
  • credit to another Philippine bank account, including e-wallet top-up;
  • cash pick-up at Chinabank branches and a domestic payout network of over 12,000 branches.

Cash pick-up partners in the Philippines named on the page are Chinabank and China Bank Savings branches, Cebuana Lhuillier, M Lhuillier, LBC and Palawan Express Pera Padala. Options differ by partner and country: Ria Money Transfer, for example, is listed for the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia with cash pick-up through Chinabank branches only.
