Short answer Metrobank’s InstaPay is down from 11:00 PM PHT on Friday, October 23, to 2:00 AM on Saturday, October 24. BPI takes its app, BPI online, ATMs, Cash Accept Machines, debit cards and InstaPay offline on Saturday, October 24, from 1:30 AM to 8:00 AM PHT. Metrobank login and transactions in its app and online site stop from 9:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, to 8:00 AM on Sunday, October 25.

BPI: what stops and what still works
BPI posted its advisory on October 23, 2026, saying the work is part of efforts “to optimize our branch network”. GMA News reported BPI’s debit-card notice on October 22. During the window BPI lists its app and BPI online, ATMs and CAMs, debit-card purchases and withdrawals (international withdrawals included), interbank transfers via InstaPay, BPI online credentials on partner websites and apps, May BPI Dito partner-store transactions and BPI Express Phone as unavailable. Non-BPI cards cannot be used at BPI ATMs either.
BPI says VYBE stays available to pay bills, buy load and send or request money between VYBE wallets. Auto Debit Arrangement payments that fall inside the window are processed on the next banking day, Monday, October 26, 2026. Post-dated checks are not affected because there is no check clearing on Saturday. BPI’s figures for InstaPay and PESONet transfers to GCash are on BPI to GCash.
Metrobank: two separate windows
Metrobank’s advisory lists InstaPay services on the Metrobank App and Online site from Friday night into Saturday, then login and transactions on both from Saturday night to Sunday morning. Metrobank says customers may keep using its debit cards and transact at its ATMs and CAMs, and that it will notify customers once services are restored. Its transfer limits to GCash are on Metrobank to GCash.
This follows Metrobank’s cancelled October 12–13 machine maintenance.
InstaPay normally runs 24/7, as explained on InstaPay; PESONet runs on banking days only, with each bank’s cut-off on PESONet cut-off times. A transfer that must arrive this weekend is best sent before or after these windows.
Warning Maintenance windows draw fake “bank support” pages and messages offering to fix a card or restore access. BPI lists its 24-hour Contact Center, (+632) 889-10000, and its BEA chat. Never give a card PIN, password or one-time PIN to anyone who contacts you.
