What Metrobank said

The update sits above the original notice on the same Metrobank page: “The previously scheduled system maintenance for October 12, Monday to October 13, Tuesday, has been cancelled. You may proceed to use all our banking services with no interruption.” Metrobank apologises for the inconvenience and asks customers with questions to message it on its Facebook page.

We first reported the window on October 10 in Metrobank and RCBC ATM maintenance: cards and ATMs down October 12–13. That story now carries this update.

RCBC’s window already ran

The cancellation covers Metrobank only. RCBC’s own advisory set its debit card and ATM maintenance for October 12, 2026, from 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM PHT, covering ATM withdrawals and inquiries, debit card POS and eCommerce payments, and cardless withdrawals via QR and reference number. That window was earlier the same morning (RCBC ↗ · ).

Transfers from the Metrobank app

The original Metrobank notice named only machines and cards, not app transfers. InstaPay and PESONet fees for individuals at Metrobank and other banks are on InstaPay and PESONet transfer fees; sending from GCash to a Metrobank account is covered on GCash to Metrobank. PESONet credits only on banking days, with each bank’s cut-off on PESONet cut-off times.

Warning A cancelled or changed maintenance window is a common hook for fake “bank support” messages. Metrobank points customers to its own Facebook page, social media channels and the Metrobank Contact Center. Never share a card PIN or one-time PIN with anyone who contacts you.
