The advisory came a day after an unscheduled outage. GMA News reported that the GCash app was unavailable on the morning of Wednesday, September 30, and quoted a GCash advisory saying the company was working to restore services “as soon as possible” (GMA News ↗). Philstar reported that services were restored within the day.

GCash’s own service status page ↗ read “All Services Are Working Normally” when we checked it on October 2, 2026.

What it means for transfers

GCash sends bank transfers over InstaPay, the real-time rail, and charges ₱10 per transfer (BSP ↗). During the window, transfers out of GCash to banks and InstaPay cash-ins into GCash from banks and other e-wallets were both paused. It was the second overnight pause of the same services in four days, after the BancNet maintenance of September 28 to 29.

If a cash in sent to GCash during a pause has not arrived, GCash’s Help Center says to check the transaction status in the sending bank’s app first: a “failed” or “pending” cash in is usually returned right away, and the return may take 2 to 3 banking days when the bank has to confirm it; after 3 banking days, contact the bank (GCash ↗ · ). If the bank shows the transfer as successful and it still has not arrived, GCash points customers to Help, then Get Help and Talk to Gigi, inside the GCash app.

Warning Outages bring out fake “GCash support” pages and callers offering to recover a stuck transfer. Ask for help only through the GCash app itself, and never share your MPIN or a one-time PIN with anyone.

Fees for every bank and e-wallet are on transfer fees by bank, and GCash’s own charges are on GCash fees. How InstaPay and PESONet differ is on PESONet vs InstaPay.
