GCash has told customers that three services that run through BancNet, the switch behind InstaPay, will be unavailable overnight from 11:30 PM PHT on Monday, September 28, 2026, while BancNet runs scheduled system maintenance. ABS-CBN News, reporting GCash’s notice, gives the end of the window as 1:00 AM PHT on Tuesday, September 29; Fintech News Philippines, citing GCash’s Help Center, gives 1:30 AM.

The end time
The two reports differ by 30 minutes on when service returns. GCash’s own service status page ↗ showed no advisory when we checked it at 8:56 PM PHT on September 28, so the original notice could not be read directly. Until it can, plan around the later time: allow until 1:30 AM PHT before retrying a transfer that must not fail.
Moving money during the window
GCash told customers they can still send money to other GCash accounts with Express Send and pay with their GCash cards, according to ABS-CBN. Anything headed to a bank account has to wait, or be sent before 11:30 PM PHT.
GCash cannot send through PESONet, the batch rail that some banks point customers to during InstaPay downtime; it only receives PESONet transfers (see PESONet cut-off times). A bank customer who uses PESONet overnight will see the money credited on the next banking day, not at once.
Tip If a bank transfer fails, GCash’s help page says the full amount including the fee is returned to the wallet, usually within 1 to 2 business days; a delayed transfer may instead be credited to the receiving bank within 3 to 5 business days (GCash ↗ · ). Check your Transactions page before sending the same amount again.
Warning Downtime notices are a common hook for fake “GCash support” pages and messages. Report a failed transfer only through the Help option in the GCash app, never through a link or a number sent to you.
Scope of the maintenance
Only GCash’s notice for these hours has been reported. We found no advisory from BancNet itself or from another bank or e-wallet naming September 28 to 29, so other InstaPay participants may not be affected. The last round of overnight InstaPay downtime, on September 23 to 24, came from RCBC and DBP.
