What UNO said
In the statement quoted by ABS-CBN News, UNO Digital Bank said: “We assure everyone that our recent maintenance procedure did not impact customer funds or account balances, and that we expect all banking services to be restored today.”
The bank explained that “on October 11, following the identification of technical issues affecting our systems, we placed our digital banking services under unscheduled, extended maintenance as a precautionary measure while continuing our transition to the upgraded UNO 2.0 platform.” It said it could not notify customers in advance because the maintenance had to begin immediately, and it apologised.
UNO added that it will post updates through its official channels and that it is offering additional bonus interest to eligible savings accounts of affected funded customers.
What the BSP said
The BSP told ABS-CBN News that it is working with UNO to resolve the issue. “It should address the disruption and meet its obligations to its customers. Supervisory action may be applied, as appropriate, based on results of the ongoing inquiry,” the central bank said.
