A GCash refund comes from GCash, the merchant or your card issuer, depending on what went wrong.
Short answer When a GCash transaction fails, GCash usually returns the money on its own: a failed bank transfer comes back with its ₱10 fee in 1–2 business days, a duplicate QR charge in 24–48 hours and a failed load purchase within 2 days. For a purchase you want to cancel, the merchant decides the refund, not GCash.

First check: did the transaction go through?
Open your GCash Inbox or Transaction History and look at your wallet balance. If the transaction is not in the history and the wallet was not deducted, it did not go through and there is nothing to refund. Some services deduct the wallet at once but post later: bills depend on the biller’s processing time, GFunds follows its order processing days, and GStocks PH orders are processed during PSE trading hours (Monday to Friday except holidays, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM and 1:00–3:00 PM PHT). If the wallet was deducted but the history shows no record, GCash asks you to raise it with support.

Who handles which refund
| What happened | Who decides | What GCash says happens |
|---|---|---|
| GCash to bank transfer failed | GCash | SMS says the money returns to GCash in 1–2 business days or reaches the bank in 3–5; a failed transfer is refunded in full plus the ₱10 fee |
| Charged twice for one QR payment, one entry in history | GCash | Extra amount auto-reversed after 24–48 hours |
| Charged twice for one QR payment, two entries | GCash, with the merchant | One ticket per charge; the valid payment is kept, the duplicate reversed |
| Load not received | GCash | Automatic refund within 2 days; do not buy again yet |
| Bills paid twice | The biller | Ask the biller to apply it to your next bill; a refund depends on the biller’s approval |
| Online order or subscription | The merchant | GCash is only the payment method |
| Purchase with a linked debit or credit card | The merchant; the card issuer for unrecognized charges | The issuer runs any chargeback under Visa or Mastercard rules |
| GCash Card purchase | The merchant first, then GCash | Merchants usually get 7–15 days to settle; GCash support replies within 24 hours |
| GCash Card at an ATM, no cash dispensed | GCash | Usually automatic: 2–3 business days in the Philippines, 7–10 abroad; 10–12 business days if a dispute is needed |
Failed GCash to bank transfer
GCash sends transfers to banks and e-wallets in real time through InstaPay. When a transfer is delayed by a system issue or maintenance, GCash sends an SMS saying the money will either return to your wallet in 1–2 business days or be credited to the bank account in 3–5 business days (business days exclude weekends and holidays). If the transfer fails, GCash refunds the full amount plus the ₱10 fee.
If the money is not back after 2 business days, report it in the app. GCash support replies within 24–48 hours, and disputes should be filed within 15 days of the transaction. If you typed the wrong account number, the steps are different: see GCash wrong number.

Charged twice
For a QR payment, check your Transaction History first. If only one payment shows, the second charge is still being checked and the extra amount is reversed automatically after 24 to 48 hours. If both payments show, file one ticket for each charge (each has its own reference ID) with a screenshot of each; GCash checks with the merchant, keeps the valid payment and reverses the duplicate.
For a bills payment made twice, GCash asks you to contact the biller first, who may apply the extra payment to your next bill; a refund is not guaranteed and depends on the biller. For an online payment or subscription charged twice, report it from the payment in Transactions.

Load not received
Load is usually sent right away. If it does not arrive, check the mobile number you entered and that the payment appears under Transactions, and do not buy again yet: a failed load purchase is refunded automatically within 2 days. Load bought through the GlobeOne app is handled in GlobeOne’s Help Center, not in GCash.

Orders, subscriptions and card payments
GCash does not manage orders or decide refunds for things you bought. For an online order, an auto-debit or a subscription, contact the merchant. For Google Play, open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & Subscriptions › Budget & Order History › Request a Refund. For the App Store, tap your profile picture, then Purchase History › Report a Problem › Request a Refund. Google Pay purchases also go to the merchant.
If you paid with a linked Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card, the merchant handles the refund; if you do not recognize the charge, contact your card issuer at once, since the issuer investigates and runs the chargeback. For a GCash Card purchase, ask the merchant first; if the merchant does not respond, contact GCash support, which replies within 24 hours.

GCash Card: the ATM did not give cash
A machine error or an empty ATM can stop the cash while the withdrawal still shows. In most cases the amount returns to your wallet on its own: within 2–3 business days for a withdrawal in the Philippines and 7–10 business days abroad. If the ATM provider records the withdrawal as successful, a dispute investigation can take 10–12 business days. Wallet cash-out routes are on where to cash out GCash.

Steps
- Open GCash and tap Transactions.
- Select the transaction: the bank transfer, QR payment, load or bills payment.
- Tap Get Help and choose the matching concern, such as “I didn’t receive the money”, “I was charged more than once for my transaction” or “I didn’t receive the load that I bought”.
- Follow the instructions and attach screenshots where asked; for duplicate QR charges, file one ticket per charge.
Warning A refund GCash owes you comes back to your wallet or through the ticket you filed in the app. If a stranger offers to “process” a GCash refund for you, treat it as a scam: see how to report a scam in GCash.
