Limits you can control
Maya lists these controls in Security Center:
| Control | What it limits |
|---|---|
| Daily limit | Total amount sent or transferred in one day |
| Monthly limit | Total amount transferred in a calendar month |
| Maya Wallet to Maya Wallet | Sending to another Maya Wallet |
| Wallet InstaPay | Sending from Wallet to another bank or e-wallet |
| Maya Savings to Maya Wallet | Moving a Savings balance into Wallet |
| Maya Savings InstaPay | Sending from Savings through InstaPay |
| Maya Savings PESONet | Sending from Savings through PESONet |
| Insta-fill from Savings | The amount Savings may provide when Wallet cannot fully cover a payment |
These are security controls for your account. They can be lower than Maya’s published product maximums, but raising them does not override an account-type, payment-rail or available-balance limit. See Maya account limits for the current Basic, Upgraded, Super and Ultimate caps.
Steps to change a limit
- Open the Maya app and tap Profile.
- Choose Security Center.
- Tap Transfer Limits.
- Select the route you want to control.
- Tap Edit Limit.
- Enter the preferred daily or monthly amount.
- Confirm the change with the OTP sent to the registered number.
Maya says the new setting takes effect after confirmation. You can change transfer limits up to three times in one day.
Use a value that fits how you actually send money. A lower daily limit can reduce the amount exposed if someone gains access to the account. Increase it only for a planned transfer, then consider lowering it again after the transfer is complete.
When limits reset
Maya says:
- a daily limit resets at midnight
- a monthly limit refreshes on the first day of the calendar month
A reset restores the personal setting’s allowance for the new period. It does not change the account tier or remove a product maximum.
For example, an Upgraded wallet may have a published monthly limit, while Security Center can also hold a lower Wallet InstaPay setting. Both apply. The transfer must fit every relevant limit.
Personal limit and product maximum
Three layers can affect a transfer:
- Your Security Center setting. The daily or monthly amount you chose.
- Maya’s account or product cap. Limits for the wallet tier, Savings route or card.
- The payment rail. InstaPay and PESONet have different per-transfer and processing rules.
The lowest applicable limit controls the transaction. Changing Security Center cannot make a ₱60,000 InstaPay transfer valid when the rail caps one transfer at ₱50,000.
Maya’s separate account-limits page also says PESONet from Maya Savings has a ₱100 minimum, ₱300,000 maximum per transfer and ₱1 million daily cap. Those figures remain product limits even if a personal control is set higher.
If a transfer is blocked
Before trying again:
- confirm the route selected in the app
- check the daily and monthly allowances left
- compare the amount with Maya account limits
- check the receiving account details
- confirm the available balance
- note any error code and transaction reference
Do not split a payment to bypass a compliance review or account restriction. If the amount fits the visible limits but the app still rejects it, contact Maya through the official Help Center and keep a screenshot of the error.
Warning Maya confirms a limit change with an OTP. Enter it only in the official app. Anyone who asks you to read out the OTP so they can “unlock” or “upgrade” a limit is trying to take control of the account.
