DBP SWIFT code and local bank code

Form field Value Use
BIC or SWIFT DBPHPHMM An international transfer to a DBP account
Philippine bank code or BRSTN 010590018 Upwork’s Direct to Local Bank setup
Beneficiary account number The recipient’s own DBP account number The destination account
Beneficiary name Exactly as registered with DBP The account holder

The SWIFT code identifies the bank. The BRSTN is a separate Philippine bank code used in specific local-bank forms. Neither code identifies the recipient, so the sender still needs the beneficiary’s own account details.

DBP publishes the eight-character form DBPHPHMM. If a sending form refuses eight characters and demands eleven, do not guess a suffix: ask the sending bank or DBP which form that route accepts.

DBP’s remittance settlement instructions ask for the beneficiary name, the bank and branch, the account number and the DBP SWIFT code. Copy the branch and account number from the recipient’s bank record rather than relying on a remembered format.

The public DBP instructions reviewed for this guide do not publish one universal account-number length for every account. They also do not supply an IBAN. If the sending form makes either field mandatory, stop and ask the sending bank or DBP what that route requires.

What DBP publishes for incoming remittances

DBP’s settlement-instructions PDF tells remitters to specify DBPHPHMM when a payment is for credit to a DBP account. The same document separates the ultimate beneficiary’s details from any correspondent-bank instructions.

That distinction matters. A correspondent account belongs to the transfer route; it is not the recipient’s DBP account. Use only the correspondent selected for the currency and payment method. DBP’s PDF lists multiple settlement routes, so copying one correspondent from an unrelated currency can misroute the payment.

DBP’s depository-banks page also lists the owning bank as the Development Bank of the Philippines and gives Makati City as the head-office location. A form asking for a bank address may need more detail than the city alone; use the exact address supplied by DBP or the sending bank for that transfer.

BRSTN for Upwork

Upwork’s official Philippine table lists 010590018 for Development Bank of the Philippines. Upwork describes this as the BRSTN used for Direct to Local Bank withdrawals and advises users to contact their bank when they cannot find or confirm a code.

Account number The recipient’s own DBP account number

Do not enter 010590018 in a SWIFT field. Do not enter DBPHPHMM in Upwork’s nine-digit bank-code field. See the Philippine SWIFT and BRSTN table for the same distinction across banks.

Before the sender releases the money

  1. Match the beneficiary name to the DBP account record.
  2. Copy the DBP branch and account number exactly.
  3. Enter DBPHPHMM only in the BIC/SWIFT field.
  4. Enter 010590018 only when the service asks for a Philippine bank code or BRSTN.
  5. Ask which correspondent route applies to the transfer currency.
  6. Review the sending fee, exchange rate and expected recipient amount.
  7. Keep the transfer reference until DBP credits the account.

Warning Routing details do not include an OTP, PIN, password or card security code. Never give those authentication secrets to a sender or anyone offering to trace a transfer.
