Open through the LANDBANK Mobile Banking App

LANDBANK says its Mobile Banking App has a straight-through account-opening feature. It names three accounts that can be opened through the app:

  • LANDBANK PISO Plus basic deposit account;
  • regular LANDBANK Visa debit account;
  • GoBayani savings account for overseas Filipinos.

The bank’s published requirements are short: the latest version of the app, a secure internet connection and an accepted valid ID.

LANDBANK lists these IDs:

  • Philippine Passport;
  • Driver’s License;
  • SSS ID;
  • UMID;
  • PRC ID;
  • PhilSys ID.

Use the account details displayed in the current app before submitting. The bank’s 2024 announcement explains the opening route, but the product terms shown during the application govern the account you choose.

Start through DOBS and finish at a branch

The Digital Onboarding System is a separate route. It saves time at the branch, but it is not the same as a fully remote application.

LANDBANK gives two steps:

  1. Fill out the online application form.
  2. Visit the branch with at least one valid ID and the initial deposit to complete the application.

DOBS lists personal individual, PISO, sole-proprietor and corporate payroll applications. Select the correct type at the start. An individual application should not be used as a substitute for a sole-proprietor or payroll application.

The public DOBS landing page does not publish one universal initial-deposit figure. Check the selected product’s current terms and the amount shown in the application before going to the branch.

Which route should you use?

Use the app route when your chosen account is offered by the straight-through feature and you can complete the bank’s digital verification.

Use DOBS when you want to prepare the application online and complete it at a branch, or when the account type is listed there instead of in the app route.

The two services are not interchangeable. Starting a DOBS form does not remove the branch step that LANDBANK publishes for that route.

What to prepare

Before starting either route, have the following ready:

  • one ID from LANDBANK’s accepted list;
  • a phone that can run the current LANDBANK Mobile Banking App, if using the app route;
  • a secure internet connection;
  • the initial deposit required by the selected product, if using DOBS;
  • the branch you plan to visit, if the application requires completion in person.

Enter your details only on the official LANDBANK app or a landbank.com page. Do not send ID images, passwords or one-time codes to someone offering to open the account through chat.

GoBayani for overseas Filipinos

LANDBANK describes GoBayani as a digital deposit account for Filipinos abroad. The bank says it has no initial deposit and no maintaining balance, and can be opened through the Mobile Banking App.

GoBayani is not proof that every LANDBANK account has the same balance rules. Check the product selected in the app.

If you are preparing to receive money from overseas, see LANDBANK SWIFT details and the broader receive money in the Philippines guide. The account must be active before you give account details to a sender.
