LANDBANK’s SWIFT code is TLBPPHMM, published in the bank’s official remittance-partner directory.

Use the code for an international transfer only after the sender and LANDBANK have confirmed the route and the receiving-account details. If a form insists on 11 characters, ask the sending bank whether it accepts TLBPPHMMXXX: Upwork explains that XXX is a placeholder some systems add to an eight-character head-office SWIFT code.

The codes are not interchangeable. SWIFT/BIC identifies the bank on a cross-border payment. BRSTN is a nine-digit Philippine bank code used by services such as PayPal and Upwork for direct-to-local-bank payouts. The account number identifies the recipient’s individual account.

LANDBANK’s directory is dated November 2024. It lists remittance partners by country and places TLBPPHMM above the directory.

What to give the sender

Give this to the sender

  • Bank nameLand Bank of the Philippines
  • SWIFT/BICTLBPPHMM
  • Beneficiary nameyour name exactly as registered on the LANDBANK account
  • Account numberyour own LANDBANK account number

Do not copy an intermediary-bank name, branch address or fee from a code directory. Those details can depend on the sending currency, the sending bank and the transfer route. LANDBANK’s official document verifies the SWIFT code and names remittance partners, but it does not turn one partner’s process into a rule for every international wire.

Before a large or urgent payment, the recipient should ask LANDBANK which details apply to the account and route. The sender should also check whether the sending bank needs an intermediary bank, a branch address or additional compliance information.

Eight characters or 11?

A SWIFT/BIC can be eight or 11 characters. Upwork’s current bank-code guide explains the distinction:

  • an eight-character SWIFT code points to the bank’s head office;
  • an 11-character code can include a branch identifier; and
  • XXX can be a placeholder when a system does not accept an eight-character code.

LANDBANK’s own directory prints TLBPPHMM, so that is the bank-published form. Do not assume every transfer form will handle the optional suffix in the same way. If a form rejects the eight-character code, confirm the 11-character entry with the sending bank or LANDBANK before proceeding.

When the form asks for a routing number

First identify the rail the form is using.

  • International wire or SWIFT transfer: the form normally asks for a SWIFT/BIC. LANDBANK publishes TLBPPHMM.
  • PayPal or Upwork local-bank payout: the form may ask for a Philippine BRSTN or bank code. PayPal and Upwork publish 010350025 for Land Bank of the Philippines.
  • Account number: enter the recipient’s LANDBANK account number, not the SWIFT code or BRSTN.

Upwork says Philippine Direct to Local Bank users should enter the head-office BRSTN rather than a local branch code. PayPal’s official Philippine list gives the same LANDBANK number and advises users to check directly with their bank when a code is missing.

The Philippine bank-code table keeps SWIFT and BRSTN values side by side. The LANDBANK profile covers the bank’s other verified reference fields.

Before the payment is sent

Check these details with the banks involved:

  1. the beneficiary name matches the receiving account;
  2. the account number belongs to the intended recipient;
  3. the sending form is asking for SWIFT/BIC rather than BRSTN;
  4. the sending currency and any conversion are understood;
  5. any intermediary-bank or branch field comes from the banks, not a third-party directory; and
  6. the sender keeps the transfer reference.

Read TLBPPHMM back character by character before confirming. A wrong code or account number can delay or return a transfer. If a payment is delayed, the recipient should give LANDBANK the sender’s reference, sending date, amount, currency and sending-bank details. Never disclose an OTP, card PIN, password or app login to trace a transfer.
