EastWest’s BIC on PCHC’s PESONet participant list is EWBCPHMMXXX.

Short answer Use EWBCPHMMXXX only when the payment form asks for East West Banking Corporation’s BIC or SWIFT code. Confirm the beneficiary name, account number and route with EastWest before the sender releases a large or urgent transfer.

Checked: October 21, 2026. The BIC was checked against PCHC’s participant list on October 20; EastWest’s current fees and transfer guidance were re-read on October 21.

PCHC labels this value as the institution’s BIC on the PESONet participant list.

That distinction matters. A BIC identifies the institution. It does not replace the beneficiary’s account number, and it does not establish which intermediary bank, branch address or fee applies to a particular international transfer.

Give this to the sender

Give this to the sender

  • Bank nameEast West Banking Corporation
  • BIC/SWIFTEWBCPHMMXXX
  • Beneficiary nameyour name exactly as registered on the EastWest account
  • Account numberyour own EastWest account number
  • Payment purpose and currencythe accurate details requested by the sending bank

Ask EastWest to confirm the receiving route before using those details. If the sender’s form asks for an intermediary bank, a branch address or another routing code, obtain that value from EastWest or the sending bank. Do not fill an unfamiliar field from a code directory.

What EastWest publishes about transfer charges

EastWest’s current fees page separates domestic fund-transfer charges from foreign-transfer charges.

EastWest fee line Published amount
PDDTS incoming commission US$5
Foreign telex incoming service charge US$5
Foreign telex — beneficiary charge US$10
Foreign telex — shared charge US$10
Foreign telex — sender pays all charges US$45
Sender-pays-all charge for EUR and JPY, effective May 5, 2026 US$50
InstaPay through EasyWay Free
PESONet through EasyWay or over the counter Free

These are separate EastWest tariff lines, not a single promised total for every incoming international payment. The actual route can involve the sending bank or an intermediary, and the beneficiary may receive a converted amount. Ask both banks which line applies before sending.

For domestic transfers, EastWest says EasyWay permits up to ₱50,000 per InstaPay transaction and ₱200,000 per day. Its PESONet daily limit is ₱250,000, with a 4:00 PM PHT cut-off for same-banking-day processing; later transfers go out on the next banking day. Those domestic limits do not set an international SWIFT limit.

BRSTN for PayPal and Upwork

When PayPal or Upwork asks for a Philippine bank code to withdraw to an EastWest account, both providers’ published lists give East West Banking Corporation the BRSTN 010620014.

Provider list Name on the list Code to enter
PayPal Philippine bank codes EAST-WEST BANKING CORPORATION 010620014
Upwork Direct to Local Bank codes East-West Banking Corporation 010620014

PCHC’s PESONet participant list carries the same BRSTN for EastWest, written there as 01062-001-4 (). A BRSTN is a domestic Philippine routing code; a sender abroad who asks for a SWIFT code needs the BIC above, not the BRSTN.

BIC, account number and domestic bank code

Do not swap the fields:

  • BIC/SWIFT identifies East West Banking Corporation in a bank-routing system.
  • Account number identifies the beneficiary’s individual account.
  • PESONet or InstaPay selection is a domestic Philippine transfer route.
  • A field labelled only “bank code” is ambiguous. Check whether it expects a BIC, a Philippine BRSTN or another scheme’s identifier.

The PESONet participants table shows the PCHC values together. The Philippine bank-code table explains how BIC and domestic identifiers differ.

Before money moves

  1. Confirm the beneficiary name and account number from the recipient’s current EastWest records.
  2. Ask EastWest whether the account can receive the intended currency and route.
  3. Confirm whether the sender needs an intermediary bank or branch details.
  4. Review the sending bank’s fee and exchange-rate quote.
  5. Read EWBCPHMMXXX back character by character.
  6. Keep the transfer reference.

A successful domestic EasyWay transfer cannot be cancelled or reversed, according to EastWest’s transfer FAQ. The same practical rule applies before any payment: check the bank, account and beneficiary details before confirmation. Never disclose an OTP, password, PIN or card security code to trace a transfer.
