GCash fully verified: IDs, steps and application timing

GCash fully verified status requires a valid accepted ID, an in-app selfie scan and approval of your application.

For a Filipino adult with a Philippine SIM, start in the GCash app under Profile → Verify Now. GCash’s current guide requires one valid government ID and says applicants receive an SMS update after three days. Different flows apply to minors, overseas Filipinos and foreign users, so choose the requirements for your own account type.

Short answer Submit your accepted ID and selfie through the official GCash app. Complete the personal details, review them and submit. An SMS update is not a guarantee of approval; check the message and the verification screen for the result or any request for documents.

Accepted IDs for a Filipino adult

The published list for Filipinos aged 18+ with a Philippine SIM includes:

National ID in card, paper or digital form.
Passport.
HDMF Pag-Ibig Loyalty Plus.
Driver’s License or BLTO Driver’s License.
Philippine Postal ID.
PRC ID.
UMID.
SSS ID.

The ID must be valid and unexpired. GCash says the actual physical ID is required and scanned or photocopied IDs are not accepted, except for National ID forms. Use the form accepted by the app for the ID you select.

An ID accepted in another GCash account flow is not automatically accepted for this one. For example, Student ID appears in the GCash Jr. list, rather than the regular adult list.

Steps

Open the official GCash app and select Profile → Verify Now.
Tap Get Started, read the reminders and continue.
Enter the six-digit code sent to your number in the app.
Enter your birthday and complete the citizenship step for the appropriate flow.
Select the ID and scan it.
Complete the selfie scan.
Review the personal information and submit.

These steps describe the published Filipino-adult flow. Do not select a citizenship or account type that does not match your circumstances. GCash directs other users to their own flow.

How long it takes

Read the wording of the status screen rather than treating every delay as the same issue. A Verify Now screen can mean the process was not started, was not completed or the latest application was rejected.

If the ID or selfie fails

GCash’s troubleshooting page tells rejected applicants to read the SMS reason. For a selfie error, use good light and a plain background, keep the face fully visible and follow the scan instructions. Remove glasses or a face mask as the guide directs.

For an ID scan problem, use the original valid document, make the entered information match it exactly, keep the whole ID visible and avoid a blurry, rotated or cropped picture. GCash recommends bright light without flash.

The guide allows resubmission within 10 days for those errors. If that period passes, the verification process must be restarted. A request for additional documents has its own follow-up timing.

After approval

Check the status in the app and review the limits attached to that profile. Verification status, wallet capacity and a particular transfer method’s cap are different things. See GCash limit for the current profile and service-limit tables and GCash fees for charges.

Being fully verified does not mean every transaction is unlimited. For bank transfers, the method, sender and recipient restrictions still matter.
