UnionBank’s published SWIFT/BIC for the migration route is UBPHPHMMXXX.

UnionBank publishes UBPHPHMMXXX for incoming remittances to migrated UnionBank accounts. The bank also tells affected customers to replace old beneficiary details with their new UnionBank account number.

Checked: October 11, 2026, against UnionBank’s migration advisory, PayPal’s Philippine bank-code list and Upwork’s bank-code guidance.

UnionBank SWIFT and bank codes

Field Verified value Use
SWIFT/BIC UBPHPHMMXXX Incoming international remittance to the UnionBank account covered by the advisory
BRSTN / Philippine bank code 010419995 Local-bank payout forms that specifically ask for a Philippine BRSTN or bank code
Account number Your current UnionBank account number Identifies the receiving account
Beneficiary name The name registered on the account Identifies the account holder

UnionBank’s advisory is explicit: customers whose accounts moved to UnionBank should re-enrol saved beneficiaries with the new account number and update the number previously given to senders. For Citi-branded deposit accounts covered by that migration, the same advisory calls the new number a 10-digit account number.

Do not swap these fields. A SWIFT/BIC identifies the bank in an international transfer. A BRSTN is a nine-digit code used for Philippine local-bank routing. Your account number identifies the destination account.

Give this to the sender

Give this to the sender

  • BankUnion Bank of the Philippines
  • SWIFT/BICUBPHPHMMXXX
  • Beneficiary namethe exact name on your UnionBank account
  • Account numberyour current UnionBank account number
  • Payment purposethe accurate purpose requested by the sending bank

This is a checklist, not a substitute for route-specific instructions. Ask UnionBank to confirm the receiving details for your account before the sender releases a large or urgent payment. If the sending form asks for a branch address, intermediary bank or another field, get that value from UnionBank rather than copying it from a directory.

If your account was migrated

The bank’s advisory is written for customers whose accounts migrated to UnionBank. It says to:

  1. choose UnionBank as the beneficiary bank;
  2. re-enrol the beneficiary with the new UnionBank account number;
  3. update the account number already shared with regular senders; and
  4. use UBPHPHMMXXX for incoming remittances via SWIFT.

A saved beneficiary can still hold the old number even when the bank name looks right. Delete or replace the stale beneficiary through the sender’s bank process before the next transfer.

For a Citi-branded deposit account covered by the advisory, UnionBank says the new account number has 10 digits and can be found in the account records it identifies. That statement should not be stretched into a rule for every UnionBank product. Use the number shown in your own current UnionBank record.

When a form asks for a routing number

First check what the form is actually asking for.

  • SWIFT/BIC: use UBPHPHMMXXX only for the international route covered by UnionBank’s instruction.
  • Philippine BRSTN or bank code: PayPal’s official Philippine list and Upwork’s Philippine table both give Union Bank of the Philippines as 010419995.
  • Account number: enter the current receiving account number, not the SWIFT code or BRSTN.

Upwork explains that SWIFT codes can have eight or 11 characters. The final XXX is the common head-office suffix used where a form expects 11 characters. Its guidance also says the safest way to confirm routing is to ask the receiving bank for the SWIFT code and account number needed for that transfer.

The Philippine bank-code table keeps SWIFT and BRSTN values side by side. The UnionBank profile covers the bank’s other verified reference fields.

Before the sender pays

Ask the banks involved:

  • what the sending bank charges;
  • whether another bank may deduct a fee;
  • what currency reaches the UnionBank account;
  • which details or documents are required; and
  • what reference number will be issued.

Keep the sender’s transfer reference. If the payment is delayed, give UnionBank the reference, sending date, amount, currency and sender-bank details. Do not share an OTP, password, card PIN or app login.

A quick check before money moves

Read UBPHPHMMXXX back character by character. Match the beneficiary name to the receiving account. Confirm that the account number is the current UnionBank number, especially after a migration. Then check the currency and any extra routing fields with the banks involved.

If a form labels one field simply “bank code,” stop and identify whether it wants SWIFT/BIC or a Philippine BRSTN. The two verified codes on this page serve different systems.
