A CIMB transfer not received by the other bank needs a rail, timing and transaction-status check before another payment.

Short answer CIMB says an InstaPay transfer should appear immediately, while PESONet follows business-day processing windows. Its help page lists invalid recipient accounts, incorrect details, suspicious transactions and unsupported currencies as possible causes of unsuccessful crediting. Check the exact transfer record and contact CIMB through its official Help Center if the outcome remains unresolved. A debit alone does not identify which cause applies.

First separate InstaPay from PESONet

CIMB route or submission time Processing stated by CIMB
InstaPay Should reflect immediately
PESONet before 9:00 AM PHT on a business day By 2:00 PM PHT that business day
PESONet before 3:00 PM PHT on a business day By 6:00 PM PHT that business day
PESONet from 3:00 PM PHT, or on weekends/holidays Within the next business day

CIMB suggests checking again by the end of the day and checking with the recipient bank because posting times vary. Use that guidance alongside the rail-specific windows above. It does not make an InstaPay payment a PESONet instruction, or establish a fixed refund deadline.

If your receipt identifies another provider or transfer route, use that provider’s instructions. This page covers CIMB’s Philippine interbank-transfer help, not every transfer bearing a similar status.

Possible causes of unsuccessful crediting

CIMB’s fund-transfer help lists an invalid account, including a wrong number or a closed, dormant or blocked account; a suspicious transaction; incorrect recipient information; and a currency other than PHP.

Treat the list as possible explanations. A delay does not establish that the recipient’s account is blocked or that either person is suspected of wrongdoing. Support needs the actual transaction record to investigate.

Compare the account number and full recipient name you entered with the details provided by the intended recipient. Keep any correction separate from the unresolved instruction. Editing a saved recipient for future payments is not evidence that the earlier payment changed.

Open a ticket in the CIMB app

CIMB describes this route on its Get Help page:

  1. Log in, open the Menu and choose Help Center.
  2. Tap Need Help?
  3. Select the relevant category and account, then describe the concern.
  4. Attach screenshots or a screen recording if needed and submit.
  5. Follow updates through the CIMB app.

In your description, include the transaction reference, route, amount, date and time, bank destination and the status currently shown. Explain whether the amount was debited and what the recipient has checked. Keep a copy of the ticket so a follow-up can refer to the same case.

Warning Use the bank’s official support channel. Do not give an OTP or PIN to an account that offers to release or refund a delayed payment.

What a return means

CIMB says that if the receiving bank cannot process the transfer, the amount net of any service charge, which may vary across banks, is credited back once the receiving bank returns the funds to CIMB. The wording ties the credit to that return; it does not promise that every unresolved transfer is refunded after one universal number of days.

Check the actual credit entry before treating a case as returned. If you still need to pay the recipient, establish the first transaction’s outcome before issuing a replacement. Save the original and any later payment references separately.
