BPI’s SWIFT code, bank code and what a sender abroad needs.
Short answer BPI’s SWIFT/BIC code is
BOPIPHMM, orBOPIPHMMXXXin the 11-character form, and BPI says it applies to all branches. A sender abroad needs that code, your complete account name and your 10-digit BPI account number. For PayPal and Upwork you enter the BRSTN instead:010040018.

What the sender needs
BPI’s own checklist for an incoming transfer asks for four items: the beneficiary’s complete account name, the beneficiary bank and branch of account, the “Beneficiary BPI 10-digit Account Number” and the SWIFT address BOPIPHMM (BPI ↗ · ). Routing number, IBAN and the BRSTN
BPI answers this directly for a sender abroad: “No Routing Number, Sort Code, IBAN or ABA needed” to send funds to a BPI account (BPI ↗ · ). The nine-digit code that PayPal and Upwork want is a domestic one, the BRSTN, which Upwork defines as the Bank Routing Symbol Transit Number (Upwork ↗ · ). BPI does not print its BRSTN on its own site, so 010040018 rests on PayPal’s Philippine bank-code list and Upwork’s table, which carry the same number (PayPal ↗ · ). PayPal’s list adds “Please check with your bank directly” for codes it does not cover, and Upwork’s table still uses bank names that have changed since it was written.
On the IBAN question generally, GoTyme Bank states that “Philippine banks, including GoTyme Bank, do not use the IBAN system” (GoTyme Bank ↗ · ).

The charge comes out of the money, not off a bill you pay later: BPI’s page says “Proceeds shall be credited/delivered to the beneficiary net of all fees and taxes”. Documentary stamp tax is the tax the peso row adds on top of the ₱150.
Receiving from PayPal and Upwork
Both platforms credit a peso account domestically and ask for the BRSTN rather than BOPIPHMM.

PSBank, describing the same PayPal withdrawal into an account of its own, says the request is rejected when the first name and surname on the PayPal account do not match the bank account name (PSBank ↗ · ).

The page a sender is pointed to lists “BPI Overseas Offices” and “Tie-Up Companies” as the remittance network, and states on the same page that no routing number, sort code, IBAN or ABA is needed (BPI ↗ · ). Where a sending bank demands an intermediary anyway, BPI’s 24-hour contact centre is (+632) 889-10000, printed on that same page.
Warning Confirm a code with BPI or with the platform asking for it, never with a code-directory site or a message you received. PayPal’s own bank-code list tells users to “check with your bank directly” when a code is missing (PayPal ↗ · ), and PayPal returns funds when a withdrawal request carries incomplete or incorrect details, with a return fee possible (PayPal ↗ · ).
